Why Winters?Orchards and farm lands surround the town of Winters, California — first known in the nineteenth century for growing apricots and now lauded for crops of walnuts, tomatoes and alfalfa. Just east of UC Davis, Winters is known for its agricultural innovation and small-town spirit.
The famed Highway 128 begins it's journey through wine country from its start in Winters, then leads out of town into the Vaca Mountains, where Yolo County gives way to Napa County, and eventually winds through the Napa and Sonoma Valleys before connecting with Highway 1 at the Pacific Ocean.
The Winters downtown bustles with cyclists grabbing coffee, residents displaying produce in season at the Sunday farmers’ market, and locals and visitors alike visiting the restaurants.
